Tami Freeman

Technology Editor

I graduated from Leeds University in 1995, having completed both a BSc and PhD in the Department of Physics. For the next few years I worked as a postdoctoral researcher in the University's Medical Physics Department, before heading down south to pursue a radical career change.

In mid-1999 I began work at the Institute of Physics Publishing in Bristol. Following a stint working as a production editor in the journals department I found myself a new vocation as a journalist in IOPP's magazine's department. I am currently employed as Technology Editor on a monthly magazine called FibreSystems Europe. My job entails writing news and technology articles in the area of optical communications, travelling to companies and conferences in exotic worldwide locations, interviewing key executives and tracking down great photos to liven up my stories.
